Mr. Sayantan Chowdhury has joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Silchar as a PhD Scholar in 2024. He completed his M.Tech. in Power Systems from Kalyani Government Engineering College in 2024 and his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Academy of Technology in 2022.
His academic and technical interests include power systems, power electronics, renewable energy integration, control systems, embedded systems, IoT, signal processing, and machine learning. His B.Tech. project focused on IoT applications, providing him with practical experience in embedded systems and connected devices. During his M.Tech., he worked on the estimation of inertia in renewable-integrated power systems using the IEEE 39-bus system, gaining experience in power system dynamics, renewable energy integration, and system modeling.
He has experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB/Simulink, Proteus, and other simulation platforms for power system and circuit modeling. He also has hands-on experience with power conversion hardware topologies and their control, PCB design, and embedded hardware development. His programming skills include C, C++, Java, and Python, and he has worked with several microcontroller and DSP platforms, including several Arduino boards, ATtiny series available from Atmel, several STM32 boards of ST Microelectronics, ESP32, ESP8266 of Espressif, and Texas Instruments C2000 and C6000 series DSPs. He is also experienced in PCB design using Altium Designer and Proteus.
His multidisciplinary background enables him to work across power systems, power electronics, embedded systems, simulation, control, and intelligent computational techniques, with a focus on developing practical solutions for modern electrical energy systems.
